Collision Testimonials

With the release of Collision Hosting, we developed a Wordpress plugin, which you can see in use throughout our site. This plugin is aptly named, Collision Testimonials!

Have you tried all the other testimonial plugins for Wordpress? Do they all suck? With our plugin you can easily manage the testimonials for your website. You can configure the prefix, suffix, and even the number of testimonials displayed on your Wordpress site. After you have our plugin configured, all you have to do is place our tag (< ?php collision_testimonials(); ?>) where you want your testimonials to be displayed in your template. (E.g. sidebar.php, footer.php, or even a custom template!)

Some Of Our Features:

  • Manage your sites testimonials. (Add, Edit, and Delete! Yep, full CRUD!)
  • Highly configurable via our GUI interface.
  • Set number of testimonials to display.
  • Configure the testimonial prefix and sufix.
  • Collect the following information for each testimonial: Name, Testimonial, Website, and Status.
  • Set status of testimonial to “Public”, “Hidden”, and even “Pending Approval”. This allows you to hide a testimonial rather then deleting the testimonial from the database entirely.

We plan on continuing to develop and improve this plugin, so if you have a suggestion for us, or need support feel free to contact us. You can download our plugin for your Wordpress blog on Wordpress.org.

Screen Shots

Yeah, we know, a picture is worth 1000 words, so here ya go!

This is the screen that allows you to add testimonials to the database! This shows you all the testimonials that are in the database, and that testimonials current status. As you can see you can easily access your testimonials via our sidebar menu!

Installation

  1. Upload the ‘collision-testimonials’ folder to the /wp-content/plugins directory.
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Place < ?php collision_testimonials(); ?> in your template where you want the testimonials to be displayed.
  4. Configure your testimonials options using our GUI.

FAQ

How can I display the testimonials on my site?
All you have to do is place `< ?php collision_testimonials(); ?>` in your template where you want the testimonials to be displayed. Then configure the display options on the `Testimonial Settings` page in your Wordpress Admin area.

I want to display all my testimonials on a page, how can I do this?
This currently isn’t possible, we should have this working on our next version. If you really need this now, contact us and we’ll send you a beta copy that should do the trick.

Can you add in this feature….
Sure, just send us an email and we’ll do our best!

I want to alter the plugin to do this….
No problem, we have highly commented our code to allow you to expand and enhance our plugin. We do ask that you don’t take credit for our hard work, and ask before altering…who knows, we might be rolling that feature out next!

The plugin doesn’t work, or produces an error!
Do you have the latest version of our plugin? Are you running on a supported version of Wordpress? If you are, and are still having problems with our plugin, please see our support forum on The Web Squeeze.

My question wasn’t on the list…what should I do?
We welcome your questions and feature suggestions! You can contact us via the email in our readme file that you downloaded with our plugin, as well as on our support forum at The Web Squeeze.

  2. Hi.
I’m using this plugin and it’s just great! I just wanted to ask you how I can remove
the widget on the dashboard. I need a cleaner dashboard and I want to remove as many
widgets as possible. I looked in the setting page but I didn’t find anything about
    this.
    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hi,

I just installed this very cool plugin… I want to know where the class “testimonials_page” is defined. I checked the style.css of the plugin but its no where there.

I have created at page http://www.igoy.in/testimony/ where in I wanted the image to be on right which it does but the “blockquote” is not getting properly set. So I wanted the location of class “testimonials_page” so I could position it properly by changing the width.

    Thanks

    Requesting features:
    - Have a slideshow (ex: show one testimonial each 5 seconds).
    - Paused slideshow but with arrows to show next and previous one (user clicks on).

    Thanks.
